Disabled Access Credit (DAC)

If you are looking for a job, or have found one, but the employer is hesitant to make reasonable accommodations that will enable you to work there, let him or her know that 71% of accommodations made by small businesses cost less than $500, according to a survey conducted by the Job Accommodation Network.

The DAC is a federal tax incentive designed to encourage small businesses to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It is available to any "eligible small business" and is equal to 50% of the "eligible access expenditures" which do exceed $250 but do not exceed $10,250, for a maximum credit of $5,000 a year. For more information on the Tax Incentives Packet of the ADA, use this link www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/taxpack.htm
